Ramesh Swamy is the founder of Halifax West and is responsible for the overall direction and leadership of the firm. He is known for his expertise in M&A, debt and capital markets, for bringing clarity to complex transactions, and shaping solutions that align the interests of buyers, investors, and lenders.
Prior to founding Halifax West in 2016, he served as Executive Vice President of Operations & Strategy at Curacao, a consumer finance and retail company focused on Latino communities. Reporting directly to the founder and Chief Executive Officer, he led many initiatives that drove measurable improvements in the company’s bottom-line profitability.

Much of his career, training and leadership was gained while Ramesh served as the U.S. Retail & Distribution Leader at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, LLP. In this role, he provided leadership to a national team of advisory professionals, overseeing 400% revenue growth over a five-year period. He led highly successful initiatives of critical importance for some of the world’s most prominent consumer companies including CVS, The Home Depot, 7-Eleven, Guess?, SuperValu, HBC, Logitech, and many others, creating millions of dollars in value.

Ramesh is a nationally recognized business leader, widely sought-after conference keynote speaker, author, and media spokesperson. His insights are frequently cited in leading global publications, including The Associated Press, USA Today, Bloomberg, Forbes, the Los Angeles Times, Reuters, and The Washington Post. He has also appeared on national television programs such as CNBC’s Closing Bell and Street Signs and NBC Nightly News, as well as on radio outlets including NPR, ABC, and The Associated Press. In addition, he regularly contributes to industry forums and webinars attended by senior executives, with audiences exceeding 2,000 participants.

Ramesh serves as Board Chair (President) of the International Pemphigus & Pemphigoid Foundation (IPPF), drawing on his personal experience as a patient diagnosed with pemphigus vulgaris a decade ago to guide strategy, fundraising, advocacy, and patient support for those affected by these rare autoimmune blistering diseases. He previously served on the Boards of Directors of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and the Association for Corporate Growth Los Angeles, where he held leadership roles on various sub-committees and made a tremendous impact.

In addition to his nonprofit leadership, Ramesh is an Executive Producer with Anna Barbara Films, an award-winning film production company and creative content agency based in Los Angeles and London.

Ramesh’s academic and professional credentials reflect a multidisciplinary background in finance, strategy, and leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University and an MBA from Pepperdine University. He is a CPA in both California and Canada and previously held Series 79 and 63 securities licenses (now inactive). He has also completed executive education in Project Management at the University of Southern California and in Retail Strategy, Management, and Leadership at Babson College.
